Taralets Lamon!
September 22, 2006One night, I decided to bring home food for dinner for my brother who usually goes home very late because of his night scheds at Law School. Thought of buying something that he haven't tried yet, foodtrip. To my surprise, he lost his appetite upon tasting the food.
He told me.. "Ate, pag sobrang gutom ako, wag mo na akong bibilhan ng food na ngayon ko palang matitikman. Pag hindi ko type ung lasa, hindi ako makakain eh.."
Sad naman… that's why I make it a point that we know each of our own favorites so as not to disappoint each other again.

The Tao of Dupree
It was actually Matto who first insisted to watch "You, Me and Dupree" last night. I thought we'll be having a dinner somewhere in Eastwood. Dupree (her dog's name) is played by Owen Wilson along with Kate Hudson, Matt Dillon and Michael Douglas.
Not that soo excited to watch it, even missed the few scenes of it, i just got my caramel popcorn and sat beside her, as my defense to counter boredom, just in case. I would just like to relax for a while and unwind. No thinking Sheggz… plain Sheggz-free.
Hala!
I had a blast! First, because the popcorn tasted great and Dupree gave me a number of big laughs! As if I'm watching about a real-life story that resembles that of Matto (as Kate), Arnold (Matt), and Sheggz (Dupree). Yes… in wide-screen! hehehe
Matto and Arnold, who just got married last December of 2005, play the role of my foster parents here in QC while I was mending the lost me and while I'm looking for a job. I had my room, cabinet, internet-ready pc… all i need was here
I've been warmly welcomed (I assume… hahaha) by the couple and with anyone else, even the dogs, in the house. Sometimes bringing joys to those who are taking life seriously.
Going back, here's the plot (taken from somebody else's website… hehehe).
For newlyweds Carl and Molly Peterson, life can't get any sweeter as they begin anew to settle down into married life. With a nice house and established careers in tow, nothing seems to get in their way. However, Carl is about find out just how much friendship means when Randy Dupree, his best friend has been displaced from his home and fired from his job because of attending their wedding. Taking his friend in, what Carl and Molly are about to experience is that the fine line between a few days and whatever else is after, can be a lot more than they bargained for. Especially when their friend overstays his welcome in far too many ways than he should.
I laughed when I saw this tagline: Two's company. Dupree's a crowd.
Live a carefree, light and sensible as that of Dupree not at the expense of losing your SHEREEN-NESS. Once in a while you just have to be like that to enjoy life's wondrous and simplest blessings.
Do not complicate things if it could be done simply.
Do not waste your cracked brain cells on things that could be treated with just merely smiling at it.
The movie need not to be seen on the intellectual point of view, just see it with your minds and hearts wide-opened and allow the lessons fill in.
Focus on what Dupree is saying… you will learn a lot from this seemingly nonsense and comic guy! You'll see that beyond his being nonsense…. he makes sense!
Definitely, Dupree is Sheggz counterpart in being TIMANG! Adding new spice…. On a movie level…
Remember… always get in touch with your "self + ness"…
In my case…. SHEREEN-NESS or could be MATTO-NESS, ROCKO-NESS.
Some of us will live a grand life, some are not…
Some of us will be the future leaders and presidents..
But take into account that there are some who will be contented and fulfilled with just being the "BEST OF THEMSELVES" living a non-complicated, hassle-free, tied-to-one's-obligation… and enjoying the fruits of just being THEMSELVES.

On Finding the Right Job
I've been out of corporate environment for quite sometime. Missed wearing corporate attire and high-heeled shoes. Been in and out of companies and had it thrice already.
I posed several questions in mind that I need to answer gradually…. in the passing of time.
After my last employment, I asked God to lead me in ways that I will truly appreciate things and lessons learned derived from it. If He would want it to make it learned the hard way. I am very very much willing.
And in several months of looking for a job, been accustomed to pre-employment procedures. Turned down some offers and went out on my way to look for some corporate fit.
Just this morning, got to find a company I hardly ever heard. But what made me stick to it is a potential fit!
I enjoyed taking the exams and talking with the HR staff.
In 6 years of being directly involved in Systems Analysis and Design and Development, I would want to venture into something that will not completely depart from the usual line of work but will open new horizons for IT Management and Multimedia Arts. I applied for Programmer Position, got into exams and interviews, and found out that I am not only considered in such post but more on the Product Development Specialist / Project Engineer post. Sounds great!
Just had the final interview with the President and waiting for the final verdict on Monday.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this company will lead me to long-been-desired take-off from programming!
That finally the world will welcome me back… in the corporate world in which I choose to left for a while.
