Malalad hopes to make Asiad dream a reality

FOR GRETCHEN Malalad, the coming Asian Games will probably be her make-or-break tournament to highlight a glorious career.

"I’m not going to promise anything, I’ll just do my best," she said.

"I wanted to feel again the ambiance of a tournament and the pressure that lies when competing dahil matagal-tagal na rin akong hindi nakakapag-compete abroad," said Malalad. "Iba siyempre ‘yung atmosphere sa training at sa competition. I’ve been training really hard and I wanted to compete in a tournament before the Asian Games."

 

When asked if this would be her last Asian Games, Malalad just shrugged her shoulders.

 

"I don’t know, pag-iisipan ko pa dahil the next Asian Games, 30 na ako."

Is Kukurukuko your friend?

For someone as straightforward as me, I often pause for one acceptable answer…

acceptable to the one asking and acceptable to me.

I usually say “No… just an acquaintance”.

I negate the question to further come out with follow-up questions.

“Are we not really friends?”

How come we do the things what friends usually do?

I stay, eat, sleep and hangout at Kukurukuko’s house sometimes…

Shows concern by giving unsolicited advice at some of Kukurukuko’s life somehow.

That’s what friends are doing, isn’t it?

That’s what a friend usually does.

Yeah.

But what’s blocking me to fully accept that we are?

That it’s safer to say “No, we’re not.  Just an acquaintance.”

Will that answer hurts Kukurukuko in a way?

One thing’s for sure… that if I answer positively…and I assume we are…

And in Kukurukuko’s part we’re not… it will hurt me more…

Better not to…

Less mistakes… less hurt.

No assumptions… no expectations…

I heard No Me Ames a thousand times in just one sitting in someone's house.  Though it's written in Español, the rhythm and melodies are very good… that even I can't understand it… I really appreciate it.  It's just within one scale in piano but the composer had made it perfectly in good tune… will make you actually dance in salsa…  With no keyboard at hand… I was able to write a draft of the chords with the rhythm stucked in my mind and played it when I got home… the chords are right!  hehehe

So I'm done with the chords… how about the meaning of No Me Ames?

At first reading, I didn't understand what really is the message that is trying to convey..  I lost at how some lyrics are creatively written.  I gazed upon a line or two… and gotcha!

It's funny how I could laugh now at certain things and at certain people that made me cry, hope and sigh for 5 years and more.

So Sick

Found the Mp3 of this song in someone else's pc.  This was first introduced to me by Mojack as his audition piece. But it wasn't clear that's why I didn't appreciate it.  Only last night that I heard it so loud that I found myself humming the melodies of it.
