The Old Wisdom

When the author can no longer twist the characters of the story to make a happy ending, he makes sure that the readers tend to derive a rewarding lesson out of it… so it won’t just be too heavy.

Try to convince ourselves not to get bitter at events like these but be positive that when one door closes, another window opens up for you.  It won’t happen in a snap… you might even have to have a slap on your face, a pat on your shoulder, a strong punch at your chest…. Only the learning process is the most rewarding part of the journey and getting the realizations make you no longer the old person that you are … but a new person with a new learning.

That’s why I respect the wisdom of older people more than the young ones.  For in the young one’s are too shallow and too objective… It’s the passing of time and the summation of experiences that bring glory to that kind of old wisdom.  Not that these people never committed any mistakes, but it’s through their mistakes that they learned. I may be sharing advice to a lot of people, preach at times in some religious talks, but friends… even good adviser at times cannot apply to themselves what they are preaching.  It is for them a reward to help other people learn from their mistakes and not to allow people to experience the same hit and throws while you’re in there.

Better to grow old with grace… than to be treated as someone …. Who gets old but never learned anything at all.
