K-Date
November 20, 2006I rushed to get dressed to attend the afternoon mass.
I heard my Lola asked my Mom,
Lola: “Saan ang punta nun?”
Mader: "Sisimba daw."
Lola: "Aba.. himala… sinong kasama?"
Mader: "Ina naman… mag-beinte otso na yan… Hayaan mo na kung may kadate!"
Lola: "Nagulat lang ako at sisimba. Tuwang-tuwa ako at bumalik na sa dati."
I smiled at their conversations…
They are so happy that finally, I’ll be attending mass. So I went there.
I received communion…. Was among the first on the line…I knelt down and prayed fervently… it took me awhile before I sat in. I saw myself crying… for the many sorry’s and many thanks I told God.
Whatta relief to be back!
I was still in the midst of praying when I felt …
May kumulbit sakin..
I ignored..
“Araayyy… may kumurot…”
So I end it up and asked the girl beside me..
“Sino ung kumurot sa akin?”
Girl : “Wala naman pong dumaang tao.”
So I sat comfortably and waited. While looking at the altar… I saw one familiar face of a friend standing beside the priest. The priest at that time is mentioning about the Caravan in Cavite and that Caviteños need to wear Light Blue… my friend signaled that he, too, is wearing Light Blue…
He did nothing but to stand, smile, and wink…
I was left… smiling too.. And watching him. When the mass is ended, the people went out of the church and I remain sitting. My friend waved… and I nodded… He even tried to move the banner of Cristo Rei on the foot of the altar… but he never succeeded… he smiled at me again and laughed. “Hangkulit”
I followed him… but he disappeared in the crowd. I can’t see him anymore. I saw my friend… this time, I am wide awake… and I’m in the church.
Hopefully, the next time that you’ll gonna see me… not in a crowd… mapapagkamalan akong “Natuluyang Timang…”
Happy Sunday, Rowel! Happy ako… don’t worry!
Balik ka na ulit dun!
Team Pacquiao in the Haws!
I am not really a PacMan fanatic… actually I seldom watch his fights… but I promised myself not to miss the Grand Bout. So I woke up 9am of November 19, 2006 and tuned in to ABS-CBN’s delayed telecast of the Grand Bout. Cellphone was ready, fully-loaded and even texted my Tito in the States for early announcement…
The stories behind the Grand Bout….
Ultimo holduppers day off!
Team Pacquaio in the house!
(L-R) Ama Turing, Nanang Ludy, Mader at Ina Minting
10:01 am - “I’m still in the island watching it live from a house with maybe 50 people all males except me and my friend. Hahahaha only 25 pesos! VIP Kami dito!
10:02 am - Yagtan-aw ako nga! Live!
10:36 pm - Nagkagulo dito kasi may pupusta kay Morales. Hehehe! Wala kasing betting dito kasi puro pacquiao. Parang sabong ung mga senyas ditto! Hahaha Sarap ditto!
10:41am - Oo 7th round. Pawis na pawis na ko! Hehe!
Sabay dumating text ninyo. Unfair daw. Pacquiao may have the same fate kung aabot sila ng 12 rounds.
Say in case of a draw, the title remains with the defending champion. Kasi di niya tinalo napantayan lang.
12:38 pm - If Pacquiao won’t TKO / KO Morales and go for decision, he will not make it. Pacquiao-Morales fight on the way now.
12:44pm - Bayang Magiliw na. Grabe ang emotions ditto. Sarah Geronimo sings. STOP DISTURBING ME!
12:59 pm - The Mexican crowd is rude. Filipinos are hysterically cheering but are behave. I’m proud to be a Filipino today more than ever. Round 1 now. Pray.
1:13pm - It’s the best fight in years! It’s classic. Tapos na si Morales!
1:20pm - Watch it with a crowd around you. You will feel your adrenaline rushing! Paos ako!
1:25pm- “Island without kuryente pero dumiskarte just to watch Pacquiao Live. Beautiful island I’m at home here. You should visit this island once. Dami foreigners. Lunch na kami”.
7:06pm - Grabe! Pati sa bus Pacquiao ang mga songs! Wish our politicians are as passionate in governance as Pacquiao is in boxing… Hay.. poor Pinas….
1:10pm - “Pacquiao made it in 3 rounds!”
1:20pm - 3rd round knockout! Panalo c Pacquiao!
Never underestimate the heart of Pinoys!
Sa Disyembre… ganito ulit!
Team Malalad naman kami!
