The Journey of a Happy Soul

As the year closes, I look on the events that transpire that made me appreciate life now.

Meeting new faces * Bridging new friendships * Relationships that have gone sour * Friendships that ended * Fading admirations * Growing faith * Renewed support * Friends that remained * Friends who just died * Trust and Love that is lost… some are regained * Happy faces * Crying moments * Lost times * Months that I have remained idle * Bouncing back * Winning over struggles * New Career * Realization of Dreams * Closer family bonding *

All those emotional turmoil and winning battles and renewed faith… happened in one year..

As I welcome another day, may I find courage to say goodbye to the people who turned their backs and walked out of my life.

May I find refuge in the loving arms of those who still trust and love me.
I will be home with the true friends who remained and loved me unconditionally.
For in your presence, I am depriving myself to be me, free and carefree.

May my smile reminds you of a happy soul
who once dwell in your hearts.  Thank you!

A Travelogue

My bestfriend texted me this afternoon to visit a blog site that will surely catch my attention. 
I got to check the Introduction and I saw the picture of the author… good-looking actually.
But I am amazed not with his manner of writing and his professional achievements but moreso, on the idea of putting up a blogsite that tells of his journey in the Philippines and live the Filipino way.  David, a half-Filipino and half-American raised in the States, is up to a very exciting challenge. 

David, it's your compassion and concern that inspire a lot of people…
It's what makes your blog unique… it makes sense…

Continue uplifting the spirits…. David!  Don't be dismayed with your detractors…

I care not on how intelligently you've written those… because I learn so much with the essence and the experience.

A regular 3 1/2 hour travel from Cavite to Manila took me almost 6 hours.  It's as if I travelled to Baguio.. Whew!

I wasn't overly concerned that I will be late this morning because I'm not feeling well… still have fever.  When suddenly, a red Toyota Vios VRK 660 bumped into our bus.  A lady went out of the car and immediately summoned the bus driver to come down.  Several traffic enforcers and the guards of the toll gate joined the two.  So I slept for a while.  I had this feeling that it's the lady's fault because she wasn't on the lane and could have been sued for swerving.  Then I woke up again… I was surprised to see that the bus is still there, the lady is still there with the driver, very mad at nakapamewang pa.  I heard that the lady is a Judge.

Everyone in the bus is complaining.  All shouting!  Gosh… i'm having fever and any moment, my migraine will attack due to this noise.  So I decided to go down and watch how the enforcers will resolve the issue. 

Ay buwisit.. puteks! Picture ng picture at ayaw isipin ang solusyon.

Natakot ang mga hinayupak na enforcers sa isang Judge.  Nasindak sa paliwanag at matatalim sa tingin ng babae.  Kampante pa ako noong una.  Ngunit hindi ako nakapagtimpi when I heard the succeeding explanations of the judge and the driver is so helpless to defend himself.

The enforcer said….. "Judge po kasi siya."

I intervened.  So?!? Nasindak ka naman?  

Wala kayo sa lane.  Kita ninyo ang nguso ng sasakyan ninyo nasa harap ng aisle ng tollgate.. ang bus nasa lane.  Kayo ang sumalpok.  Swerving pa nga kayo eh.  Kunin ninyo na lang ang contact no. ng bus company at magfile kung ano man ang ififile ninyo na kaso.  Nagtatagal po eh pare-pareho tayong naaabala. 

The lady got mad. Blah Blah Blah… Nagpanting ang tenga ko sa sinabing…

"Judge ako.  Alam ko ang sinasabi ko."

I said… "Hindi ako Judge.. pero alam ko ang sinasabi ko."

An older man at my back joined the debate.

Wag ninyong dalhin ang pagka-judge ninyo sa sitwasyong ito dahil hindi ito korte.  Nag-aral ka pa naman ng Law hindi mo alam na ikaw ang lumabag.

The conversation continued for a couple of minutes.   We thought it's over. 

The lady went inside the car.  Not even bothered to pay the tollgate.  So we laughed inside. 

Ay tanga.  Eh di hahabulin cia ng sekyu ng tollgate.  Tanga talaga.. Kala ko ba Judge yan.

The enforcers once again instructed the bus driver to stop and talk to the Judge.  So I and the old man went down again to hear the succeeding debates.  Until we convinced her to let the bus go on and leave the bus conductor for further discussions. 

We entered the bus and the passengers are all clapping!  Instant heroes on the road!  Whehehe

Nasa Pilipinas, nanglalamang ng kapwa Pilipino.  Caviteña naninindak ng kapwa Caviteño. 
Ano ka hilo?  Judge ka pa naman.  Hindi ko kailangan ang mataas na pinag-aralan para malaman ang mali at tama at sa mali na pilit itinatama.  Doon ako higit na naiinis… hindi sa dahil naabala kami ng husto… kundi ung mga bali-balikong eksplanasyon ng isang taong disin-sana'y higit na nakakaunawa ng batas.

At sa mga enforcers na yan… sinindak lang kayo ng konti sa mahusay na pananalita.. nasindak kayo.  Mayaman lang ng konti hinahayaan ninyo ng maliitin ang maliliit na tao?

Puteks!  No wonder… legal system here sucks! Gago ka.. magbayad ka ng toll fee… tange!
