Bye 2006…

The first time that I never spent Noche Buena and Media Noche with my Mader and Daddy… Dunno if it's something to celebrate or what whehehe… I spent it with my brother, Lolo and Lola.

My first time also not to spent Christmas night at home… I rushed to Manila and spent it with some friends.

Came New Year's Eve… the lights went off… BROWNOUT!  Is it a whole year round of BLACKOUT! 

Instead, I went to the dining table and look for food… aside from the many round fruits on the table, sandwiches and ham, graham cake, roasted chicken and my fave sotanghon ni Lola, I saw nothing more.  So I went to my Lolo and asked… 

Sheggz :  Bagong Taon di po ba?  Bakit walang pagkain?
Bro       :  Nagulat ako … iisa lang ang lusis eh.  Gift lang yata to kaya meron.
Sheggz :  Bakit?
Lolo      :  Maysakit si Mader.  (ang Mader ko)
Sheggz :  Hala.. bakit hindi sinabi sa ken… eh di sana ako na lang nagprepare.
Bro       :   Mamayang 12am ko na sisindihan para naman sakto.
                Sana nagpunta na lang tayo ng Manila to watch the countdown.

So as not to make it worse… I went to bed, made sure that I have a few coins in my pocket, I opened the window and hugged my Pooh bear.  I usually welcome the New Year and bid goodbye with the old with a heartfelt prayer. 

I remembered my Lola saying,

Yung New Year… Bagong Baby yan… tapos yung Lumang Taon… old weak man… Kailangan na niya magpaalam para mabuhay ang bagong baby… Paalam ka na kay Old Year.

There I cried.  I was so sorry for not having much time to prepare for Media Noche.  Everyone in the family was expecting that I'm the one who is overly excited to buy food for Holidays… 

Pati family ko naidamay ko sa "sana eh papalipasin ko lang na New Year"

I silently prayed… "Lord, is this the saddest New Year for me… and for us?  I just want to spend a lil time for myself to think things over… hindi pala pwede… andami palang masasaktan pag pinagpatuloy ko ang drama kong ito.  Haaay… can you make it a lil lighter and happier… kahit ngayon lang?  Ung mapapangiti ako kahit sandali lang…"

I was in this mode when suddenly, the skies were filled with fireworks…

This is the first time also that I witnessed awesome fireworks in our town… the one I usually in WowPhilippines and Enchanted Kingdom….

I stood up by the window for how many minutes… I called my Lola to watch it also…

"A Thousand WoW… Ooohhh… Clap! Clap! Clap!"

A tear fell on my cheek… "Bye 2006… Bye! Thank you…" 

I expect that it's God's way of telling me…

2007 is definitely one great year to look forward to…
It's gonna be colorful and beautiful.
