The Book of Answers

I've been curious at the book which Beatriz Saw brings inside the PBB House.

It's entitled, "The Book of Answers" written by Carol Bolt.  Quite intriguing for me that's why I've been looking for it in the bookstores but still couldn't find any.  Hope to find my luck at 2nd-hand bookstores for it…

When I searched the website at http://www.thebookofanswers.com, I found out several others books of Ms. Bolt about Love's BoA, Soul's BoA, Mom's BoA, Movie BoA, Literary BoA, etc.

"A magical thing…so good it is almost impossible to believe
it's taken humanity two full millenia to come up with it!"

Pinoy Big Brother

I’ve been a big fan of Pinoy Big Brother Reality Show in ABS-CBN… from the time it was initially aired from Season 1 until now… watched closely the plight of my favorite housemates, like Kumander Nene and Karate Chick Gege to the Sassy Girl Beatriz.

At first, it wasn't quick for me to realize what values it try to teach the viewers.

What positive I see in PBB?

  1. “Mirroring Ourselves”

It has become an effective tool to self-re-assessment.

Who among the housemates can you relate yourselves with?

What positive and negative attitudes you think you have that when opened out and dealt with other housemates would yield the best and not-so-good results?

  1. An extra push to help and be aware.  Sometimes we’re not aware or we’re trying ourselves not to be aware of what has really happening outside.  It gives us a push, somehow, to extend our help… not just in voting for the favorite housemates but on the tasks that require outside help from the viewers.
  1. Attitude check

What’s admirable and what’s not admirable?

What deserves an applause and what deserves a kick?

  1. We sometimes become too judgmental of the housemates behavior and reactions inside but we are seeing ourselves… and who sees us while we’re giving such nasty comments about them… another Big Brother in the person of God.

This reality show demands us to become open-minded at people’s diversity.  Remember, each of the housemates, represent a larger set of people outside the house.  Many of us are like Mickey, or Gee-Ann, or Wendy, or Beatriz, or Ate Raquel or Franzen or even Jason or Keanna.

It helps us to develop a heart full of love and understanding at each of the housemate’s mistakes and shortcomings and triumph at each of their victories, be it little or big.

This is what reality show teaches us.  SEE THE REALITY!

And if you can’t resist the not-so-good that’s happening inside, then do something good to change it outside.

We are all housemates in a much larger PBB House of God…

Someone sees us and saddens at how we deliberately react at other people.

Someone sees the goodness, the strengths and weaknesses, and the funny lil toinks in us.

Yet… continue to love us.

At the end of the season, it’s not just the Big Winner inside that wins, but all of those who learned the value that this reality show wishes to extend to us.

The Big Winner is US.

It's not just who we put on top but on the kind of attitude and the kind of personality we let ourselves win!

And my appeal to PBB Management is not to distort the values that the show extends in exchange of higher ratings and profit.

There’s good and beneficial in your show which you, yourselves, are not aware of it.

Don’t fool the viewers.  Respect them as they have respected you in several seasons that you have aired PBB in the Philippines.  Make them feel that PBB here is separate and different from the PBB around the world.

It has credibility.

It’s a triumph of the people.

It has a heart that cradles the best!

Don’t make them feel as if being fooled by distorting the events and hiding what is supposed to be shown and be proud of.

Make it real. Don’t put magic into it!

It’s a REALITY SHOW not REEL-ALITY.

Think of the good for the great number of people not just of your own.

Always bring the admirable winner on top of the house…

We’re bringing it proudly to all the nations in the world.

This is what you do.  This is what the housemates do.  This is how we see it.  This is how other people see it.

Get it right, Kuya?

Super-what?

Have you been in one situation where you want to ask something to a man without having the fear of being misunderstood at the manner of asking and the line-up of questions?

In short, no malice at the manner of questioning and in the intention of doing such.

I woke up alienated at what has transpired. What the heck happened?

What has gone wrong or what event has made us detached?

I question myself since I cannot ask the person himself.

I question myself since I cannot get anything sensible from the person himself.

I am not here to ruin your world or change the ways you have been used to.

What's complicated about talking to a friend?

I can easily pose the question because there's no string attached..

You have all the time to explain.

What I fear the most is… I might lose the interest in listening.

That when the time comes you’re ready to have your litany… my heart is closed.

Face your biggest fears, Superman! Face it or Escape!

Confused

Lately, I've been so confused at how the next days will be executed as it is expected to be.  My mind is set to having my exit at May 31 at the office and focus on the overseas application I have for Singapore.   I have set aside a few weeks to rest before I jump in to another corporate challenge elsewhere in the world.

I've been fixing my workloads to fit in before the month ends and settling all the things that need to be settled regarding my project before I leave and turn it over to the new project lead, meet the friends I need to meet, talk to those I need to talk to.

When all of a sudden, I was asked to extend 2 more weeks. Whew!  It's easy to say "No, I can't".. but I find it harder to say goodbye to the people I've been around with for the past months and to the project who has become my lil baby…  not just the coworkers but the clientele who have become my instant friends and kakulitan.

God must have been pulling off the necessary forces to hold me off from exiting Pinas…

Is there anything more I need to do here… what is that, my Lord?

Love that Section

I seldom find time to visit the mall for the past months that I have changed my work timezone…

Last week, I decided to go inside Landmark, went upstairs and go straight at my favorite section… the stall of Winnie the Pooh and Friends.  Time to meet my good ol buddies here…

I make sure that the saleslady is not with me to mess around and no customer is beside me before I make this welcome remarks..

Sheggz: Well, well, well… kamusta naman kayo jan mga pooh?!

Pooh:  Eto, dilaw pa rin ang hasang.

Sheggz: Grabe, andami ng bago ah.  At in fairness, mejo mura-mura ngayon hehehe

Pooh:  Antagal mong di bumisita dito ah.

<the rest is blah blah blah>

It's always a stop-shop for me at this section… a happy time to find some new Pooh items that has not been included in my collection… from hanky to the biggest stuffs it offer.  I remember before, I make kulit with the saleslady to find a Pooh children shoes that will fit my big feet…

In almost all the department stores here, I always find time to memorize at which floor or what specific site the Pooh section is located, so when I get the chance to stop by and visit them, I know where exactly to find them.

Hehehe

9 Things I Hate About Everyone

This one I got from Iset at my inbox.

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time…. I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!

5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?"…. Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!' Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8. When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?

At home

How to spot if I'm @ home @ someone else's house.

1.  I eat a lot.  Always a thin line between "Lamon" and "Kain"

2.  I frequently visit the fridge for chocolates.

3.  Taas ang paa kapag kumakain.

4.  Early to bed and so late to rise.

5.  I'm the one switching channels on your tv's remote control.

6.  Doing some chores at the kitchen.

7.  You'll see me quickly catching a nap.

8.  I ask for chocolate drink @ breakfast.  (That's very rare actually)

9.  I walk inside barefooted.

10.  I can make "pooh-pooh".

On the contrary…

1.  I eat less.

2.  I just stay at one place and you won't see me roaming around.

3.  I can't sleep. (that's I guess the most visible symptom)

4.  I always want to go home.

5.  I can't make "pooh-pooh".

6.  When I look for something to read… it means I'm bored.
