My Music and Lyrics
August 9, 2007
I tried to set aside my passion for songwriting at the time I wasn't permitted by my family to pursue a Conservatory of Music course in UP in 1995. I trashed it out when my song entry didn't qualify in Metropop.
In short, that dream had been trashed out until such time that I almost forgot even ticking the keys of my keyboard… that I couldn't even play a complete song or read a music sheet.
The beginning of all disappointments started in this era. It's not that I hate the world for this but I hate myself for not having the much-needed push to nourish this gift. Cause the voice within had been kept a prisoner… knowing that voice, when freed, is what liberates me and will heal the tortured soul.
The very seat of my essence ends and as to how I will recuperate is a struggle. It's not that I disappoint the world or any of those who have been expecting that sooner or later I could be a songwriter, but moreso, I have disappointed myself. Now I understand.
Now I know. Now I know where to go. Now I know what to do.
Elsewhere I go… I will always be home to my Music and Lyrics…
And the opportunity to bring back the lost times… is NOW.
The Unknown Sign
Yesterday morning right before attending a job interview, I checked the date… 08-08-2007. Out of the blue, I just added the month and year to find out that it's 17. Elsewhere I look, I was seeing 17. What's in my favorite number?
Came a casual talk with a friend. An invite.
While walking inside the venue, I told myself… I asked for this sign. At the time Aiza Seguerra's phenomenal song, "Pagdating ng Panahon" got numerous recognitions in Awit Awards. As to what's behind that sign… that I could hardly discern. I was looking at things, at people and events that will help me give clues to that sign. I know for a fact that it has something to do with what I've long been wanting to do, but I need to confirm it for myself.
I was looking for Trina Belamide at the event… but she was nowhere to be found. She's my favorite songwriter actually.
Almost all of my favorite performers and musicians were there…. Raymond Lauchengco, Jed Madela, Jett Pangan, The Company, Cesar Aguas, etc. These are just one of the clues…
I'm puzzled by that sign… but I felt a sudden push… the feeling of I'm running out of time…
