To!nk-able Thots

The best and the most wonderful thing in this world cannot be seen or even touched... they must be felt with the heart.

The Papa Intsik

August 7, 2007

Last week I joined by Ate Imee in Powerplay in Ermita.  She was practicing badminton for the upcoming tournament while I am just sitting on the edge watching her… as she threw a strong hit despite the arm injury.

Later on, we had a heart-to-heart talk.  Ate Imee is the youngest Tita in the family while I'm the eldest niece.  The close age gap made us clicked.

We talked about love, of life, of apply-and-resign mode, of almost everything we think of, even the Singapore thingy and now the family's plan of bringing me to Canada…  She was telling me…

Oh my God… nagresign ka na naman… it means.. magreresign na naman ako.. hahaha

What I admire most about Imee is that she's focused at what she's doing.  She stands for every decision she wishes to make… without having to be acknowledged as "Pasaway"…

She is a fighter, too… who knows what exactly what she wants in life… not even bothered and overly concerned whether or not to live life alone… She's in mid-30s already… but… not bothered at all… because of the numbers in lotto.. hahahaha

Now… she's happy with her Papa Intsik… and I'm too happy that sooner or later… our dreams of finally walking down the aisle with me wearing also a long gown… will soon happen… aww!  As to when and how… that has to be fervently prayed for.

We've even thought of enrolling to dancing school before… of ballroom dancing… so when we get older… we know basically how to dance with the oldies… hahahaha

She even reminded me of… "You danced Macarena before in Singles… remember?!"

Ako?!? Macarena?!? Hello!!

We're just too happy when any of us do something out of the conventional perception of people towards us… like me… Ate Imee, is the only girl, in her family…

Pampered with love… and the tiger-look towards who's who is courting us.. hahaha

Water or Softdrinks?

I received this e-mail from SFC Davao Yahoogroup.  For everyone's awareness…

This is really an eye opener! We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumpe r with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

1. The active ingredient in softdrinks is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of softdrinks have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would YOU like a glass of water or softdrinks?

Muling Buksan ang Puso

August 6, 2007

A song by Basil Valdez

Walang hindi man lang dumanas kailanman
Magmahal nang tapat at ‘di man lamang nasaktan
‘Yan ay sadyang bahagi ng karanasan
Minsa’y nadarapa, paano mapagagaang

Walang hapding mananatiling nasa ‘yo
Basta’t limutin mo ano mang sakit nito

Message to myself and to the one…

<bow!>

Magnanakaw in the Dorm

Thanks to the "magnanakaw in the dorm"… it made us <my brother and I> closer again…  After several months of total silence, danger brought us back together.

Just to keep us and our belongings safe from the perils of that thief, we usually lock our door.  My brother is too sweet that he even lock me up inside… hahahahaha at the time he's taking a bath early in the morning while I'm still fast asleep inside.  Whatta great sibling connivance… hehehehe

In case of emergency, I am totally LOCKED UP! hehehe <safe naman sa magnanakaw!>

It makes us go home early and check the digital lock regularly and text each other once in a while… not to abreast ourselves with our whereabouts but whether or not we locked it up.

I wasn't too affected at first, but when he told me.. "Hala ka… baka madekwat yang mga Winnie the Pooh mo."

Syunga-syunga din noh?

The Girl

In time of silence… I would love to be remembered as the girl who smiles.

I may be in a world where nobody else is allowed to enter, I am happy having it accompanied by myself.

It will never be void.

Sais Pesos

Oist! Hindi ko crush un…. <walang malisya>

Makulay ang Buhay sa Vegetable Broth

I posted this in Friendster bulletin and received lots of comments…. Hahahahaha

Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Gulay

(Tagalog Version)

A E/G# F#m E
Dati ang gulay di ko tinitikman
D C#m E
Parati na lang iniiwasan
A E/G# F#m E
Pero ang gulay ay masarap pala
D (D#) E
Kapag sinabawan mo siya

A E/G#
Makulay (makulay)
F#m E
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
D C#m
Makulay ang buhay
Bm (D-C#m-Bm-A)
Sa sinabawang gulay

Sinabawang gulay, sarap talaga
Ang bawat higop ay puno ng saya
Sinabawang gulay, sarap namnamin
Lumalakas ako, lahat ay kayang gawin

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

(shift half-note higher)
Sabaw pa lamang ay healthy na
Lagyan ng knorr at gulay, kamiy tuwang tuwa
Gumagaling ng todo sa aral at laro
Kayat tara na maki-higop na kayo

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

Makulay (makulay)

Mahirap (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Mahirap ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

Life Is Colourful with Vegetable Broth
(English translation)

Before, I never tried to taste vegetables
I always avoided it
But I found that vegetables are delicious
If you put them in soup

*Chorus:
Colourful (colourful)
Life is (life is)
Life is colourful
With vegetable broth

Vegetable broth, so delicious
Every slurp is full of joy
Vegetable broth, good to savour
I got stronger, I can do anything

*Chorus

Broth is just so healthy
Add Knorr with vegetables, were so very
happy
Were getting so better at school and play
So lets all slurp some now

*Chorus (repeat twice)

August 6 Horoscope

Got a sneak of this horoscope from my Friendster account…. when I opened it today… i burst into laughter… cause it's true…. hoola-baloo!!

A person from your past is back today — and they are still all talk and no action!

In Detail

An amusing but somewhat deceitful person you thought was in your past will return in some form today — either in the real world or online. They were all talk and no action then, and they are all talk and no action now, too — you can (and should) bet on it. If someone you care about is falling under the spell of this person's dubious charm, you can be a good friend by giving them a heads-up. Of course, they might ignore you, but you'll feel better if you make an effort to save them from wasting their time.

The man of the past is back with his deceiving concerns… shall I call him the "The Stout Man in Black?"

Ikaw

Running late again for a 9am interview today in East Ave.

But I decided to drop by to post…

Last night, I had a time of my life to finally watch Paano Kita Iibigin (Piolo and Regine) and Ikaw (Sharon and Ariel).  Though I skipped a few scenes of mostly memorized lines, Ikaw remains one of my favorite Sharon's movies and George Canseco's masterpiece.  Just this morning, my friend Franz is telling me that Ikaw is George Canseco's song for her wife who died of cancer.

"Kaya naman pala"…. I've been asking myself… from what depth of emotions is Canseco getting that inspiration to create that song….

Hearing "Ikaw" would always makes me pause for a while and hear till it ends…

I just love the scene where Sharon is being confronted by her sister… and how she tries to deny her feelings for Ariel… and just how she bravely fought it….

Success alone is not a guarantee to be whole… it's how you love…. what you became out of loving ;-)

Nakakaloka!

Bye Bye Time ;-)

The long-awaited reunion of Fujitsu Ten small ISD group happened yesterday in Sta. Rosa, Laguna at Boc’s new pink house!  Got to see my 2-year old inaanak, Andong and the rest of the gang…This is to celebrate the many reasons to celebrate…

    • Lea leaving on August 21 for 2-years Japan Traning

    • Ella leaving for Europe for good in two weeks time

    • Celebration of Ella's birthday, too.

    • Lyn is getting married? Hehehehe

And as usual, videoke would always be a part of Boc and Ella's bonding.  We laughed at each of our triumphs in FTen and the succeeding aftershock.  Reminiscing mode at how we overcome the pains of Magic 8.3 and the stressful daily accomplishment of the AWT.

A despedida it may sound…. but it's always a welcoming spirit that one day, we shall meet again….

Cheers to Fujiya!  See you again in Ortigas ;-)
