SeptemberFest
September 28, 2007
The Voice Within…
I've been thinking lately whether or not I will take heed to the call of songwriting. I've been trying to remember what I have promised in my prayers in exchange of this very good break. Apparently, God is so good that He brought me there.
Last night…. i heard this statement…
So I was asking myself then… have i really enjoyed my professional career in IT? If yes, why do I jump in and out of good companies, why do my interest and satisfaction level seemed to be so shallow… bottomline is… why am i not happy with the accomplishments arising from work?
If not, then what's next to explore?
So I go back to my known option… music. If I would really want to pursue a career in this area, I have to be serious… at this very moment…
My memory turned back to the very first time I saw my full name at the back of an album… everytime I remember it… can't help but to laugh so hard….
This was what's running inside…. "Patay ka, Sheggz… Hala ka… Eto na yun.. Ikaw yan eh… Kaya mo ba?! Patay ka!"
I missed going to the Songwriter's Afternoon in QC, so I opted to text the organizer. Suddenly, I got a text requesting for unpublished love song… Some friends, too, are asking me to write more…
The feeling's yet to sink in. And I was asking myself… can I really do it? When everyone's pushing me to do this… I am more bothered hearing what my heart really says about it….
I haven't started it yet. And what makes me uneasy is that I'm keeping the chances waiting while others are dying to get the same chance I'm having….
What I am sure of…. I'm hearing this…. "Do what you love… and you'll love doing it."
Un na ba un?

Romantic Date
September 25, 2007Last night, I slept early but in the middle of the night, I was awaken by guitar strumming of "Leader of the Band". I texted my bro who was just at the garage having party with other barristas in the dorm.
Rovs: Si Butch at ung isa… Maingay ba kami?
Sheggz: Hindi naman. Kindly tell the guitarist… he's good…
So until they were finished, I couldn't go back to sleep again… I enjoyed hearing "Perfect, Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang, Beauty and Madness, etc." That's my known weakness… I am attracted to guys who's good at playing guitar… hehehe
I imagined myself with the guitarist at the seashore…. while he's playing love songs… I lay my head onto his shoulders… since I can't sing well… he'll do the honor of having a romantic concert…
Hangswit naman nun! Concert at the seashore… hehehe
Happy Life
September 24, 2007Always remember that the longer you stay with the things you don't really enjoy equates to every moment you lose with what could be a happy life…
As you grow older and mature, you tend to become serious at how your life is leading you. Dunno if Jacqui's virus is so contagious that it has absorbed me…. or is it Iset's influence on just having a baby with no husband or is it Matto or Maan's positive effects on having newborn babies… So I started to revise my life plan… this is the only time in my life that I really mean it… so i'm in the process of praying whether or not, whose influence is the best that I might acquire…. hahahahaha
So i tend to organize my time….
Para lang sa Yo
September 23, 2007There's one song, I fell in love with the first time I heard it. I've always admired Aiza Seguerra everytime she performs on stage. Truly singing from the heart. The tandem of Jonathan Manalo and Aiza Seguerra in this song is great. I just loved the lyrics and the melody…
I admit, I fell in love with it…
Para lang sa Yo
by: Aiza Seguerra
composer: Jonathan Manalonoo'y umibig na ako
subalit nasaktan ang puso
parang ayoko nang umibig pang muli
may takot na nadarama
at tulad mo'y naiiba
What to Expect…
September 20, 2007Everytime I'm heartbroken (aww!) or hurt by something or by someone, you'll find me in the bookstore, roaming around… trying to look for self-help books or anything that motivates me to buy or read the book.
I roam around and found the "Warrior of the Light" by Paulo Coehlo. But instead of buying, I opted to pick what my friend instructed me to buy.. "What to Expect the First Year" by Heidi Murkoff. While browsing the books, i found several others about parenting, pregnancy, child-rearing and all that… So there was this "What to Expect when you're Expecting" and "What to Expect the Toddler Years"… I was telling myself, surely, she'll be asking me again to buy this book when Izzie is older hehehe.
It's relaxing, entertaining and educational huh. When I got to Matto's house, there's Izzie and other baby gadgets. Everything you need to know is everywhere… there's this book, there's this high-tech gadgets…
I saw the "what to expect when you're expecting" book on her table…. i never thought that she had that one too… she promised that she'll lend it to me when.. the time comes that i have to read it…
hahahaha
What to expect when you're no longer expecting hahahaha
Be Happy ;-)
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't.
And believe that everything happens for a reason.Know a good thing when you see it, and don't let it slip away.
If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it..Be happy! Enjoy life!
I usually start the day tuning in to "Umagang Kay Ganda"… because I just love the song… everytime I'm hearing that.. it sets my mood right… and I make it a point that it lasts the whole day…. the lyrics are so casual yet so true..
Umagang Kay Ganda
Written by Butch Monserrat
Halika na pumikit limutin ang problema
Hihintayin ang umaga
Magpahinga, panaginip ang ikaliligaya
Darating din ang umagaChorus:
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh…
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)Magpahinga, panaginip ang ikaliligaya
Darating din ang umagaChorus:
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh…
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)Bridge:
Ang sikat ng araw
Na may dalang liwanagChorus:
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh…
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)
Live like you were dying
If not with Armi, we would have not noticed that a new CD is inside a book placed in Matto's drawer. Armi mentioned about.. "Tim McGraw… a country singer"… So I asked Matto to have that CD played. I love country music and I adore country singers and songwriters. We were joking about who's Tim McGraw… and Armi said, husband of Faith Hill… I told them… cousin of McGraw Hill hahahaha.
So I sat down and waited for track 1 to play. I turned it back and found this caption… "You can't control the length of your life… Just the depth." I was…. "Owww…"
The only track in the CD was very good…. and as you browse the book… you'll be spiritually enlightened.. I was hooked to the title actually because I was writing a song entitled.. "Don't ever live to die…."
A wonderfully inspirational book based on the song that in a very short time has captured the hearts of Americans everywhere, Live Like You Where Dying has a message of hope and love that makes it a perfect gift book for everyone. Nichols, Wiseman, and McGraw share with listeners and readers that the best way to enjoy life is to get in there and live every day as if it were your last. Includes a CD with the title song by Tim McGraw.
