True Friendship
Let me share with you an article I browsed over the net. In essence, this has summed up my journey for this week. As I recall my friends who I've come to sincerely established and shared one of the truest of friendships the world has ever known, I'm so happy to know that they are the same friends I've known for years and they cannot be equalled by people I have just recently met…
For true frienship thrives on trust, inspiration and comfort.
The True Friendship
Ever wondered what is the real essence of the saying "A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed"? People talk about the true value of friendship without knowing what it stands for. True friendship is when there are no formalities; when the person you are talking about is counted as family; when the relation you share reaches a stage that even if you don't correspond for sometime, your relationship remains intact. Best friends need not meet up often to make sure that the friendship remains constant. The trust between best friends is such that if one friend falls in trouble, the other will not think twice to help.
If the bond between two friends is strong, true friends can endure even long distances. They find a way of being in touch despite busy schedules. True friendship never fades away; in fact it grows better with time. True friends don't need a posh place to hang out. Their most precious hideout is each others' rooms! True friendship thrives on trust, inspiration and comfort. Best friends come to know when the other person is in trouble, merely by listening to their "Hello" over the phone.
True friends don't desert each other when there is trouble. They face it together and support each other even if it hurts the other individual's interest. Best friends don't analyze each other; they don't have to. They accept each other with their positive and negative qualities. Nothing is hidden between true friends; they know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Best friends don't stand any outsider commenting or criticizing their friendship and they can put up a very firm resistance if anyone does so.
True friends are not opportunists. They don't help because they have something to gain out of it. True friendship is selfless. Best friends support even when the whole world opposes you. It is not easy getting true friends and if you have even one true friend, consider yourself blessed. In this world of cynics and back stabbers, there are still some people who are worth being friends with.

The First Hug
I woke up early this morning hearing my brother's voice talking to my Uncle. An overseas call. I heard my brother saying… "Tito, wala na akong matandaan sa mga binasa ko eh. Ipagdasal ninyo po ako. Kinakabahan ako."
I stayed lying on my bed until the conversation was finished. Then came, my parents from Amadeo. They saw my bro was crying.
Before he left, he hugged us all… constantly saying "Ipagdasal ninyo ako na may maisagot ako, wala sana akong blankong sagot"
All of us are teary-eyed then. After the mass for the Bedan Barristers, we went outside of the driveway to cheer for my brother during the send-off party. These are the pictures taken. He hugged us again… that was the first hug of the family… with me, Mader, Daddy and Rovs. Then I saw, everyone's crying at our back, when they saw us crying, too. Still… my bro was telling…. "Ipagdasal ninyo po ako.." A big, very tight hug, very assuring and very comforting strength brought about by the renewed family bond among us. I don't know either if it was the first mass we ever attended at the time we were already grown-ups.
This was I guess one of the memorable scenes in my life that my heart will fondly remember…
More than the victory that this 2007 Bar Examination will give us, I am more than ecstatic at how this challenge bring us closer together… a one big happy family. My knees were shaking while inside the church. Among the family members, I was the one very emotional and always teary-eyed… for I know, it's not just any ordinary tear.. a tear of forgiveness and unconditional love.
Tomorrow at 4am, we will be in De La Salle - Taft to witness the first day of the Bar Examinations where we will all be cheering for our very own… "Totoy Ovel!" hehehe
I pray not just for wisdom and strength… but for a healthy mind and body and a strength of character that will set him apart from the 5000++ bar examinees….
"That in all things… God may be glorified."
I thank God that it happened again to us.. Thank you, Lord.
