It’s what’s inside ;-)
September 19, 2007A black child isolate himself from the group of kids playing in front of church.. A balloon salesman tried to get their attention so he released one red balloon and it soared high up… then the blue and then yellow, it all went soarin up till disappeared.
The black boy asked the man, "Sir, if you sent the black balloon, would it go as high as the others?"
The salesman answered, "it isn't the color, son… it's what's inside that makes it rise…"
I grew up holding on to that conviction that I am brave and strong. That beyond my known weakness and hang-ups, I manage to survive because of what I believed in…. that I am strong. Only when I cry that I tend to release all the fears unlocked within. Only in recollection and retreats did I find time to cry without being judged that I am weak… When I graduated and I found Singles for Christ, there I found an invisible hug that warms my heart everytime I feel like crying…
I heard of one Christian song last Sunday sang during its finale… and I smiled while tears were just hiding at the corners…
Give Thanks
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His SonAnd now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
To relate it with the story of the black boy, sometimes, we tend to hesitate and doubt at our talents and capabilities. And we're wasting years of possible victory because we were so afraid to tell the world "hey, there's something in me that you have to see…" We were so sensitive at what other people might throw upon us, words of rejection and words that might discourage us from pursuing…
We tend to be weaker and weaker… but if we only knew just how powerful our purpose and our dreams will be if we just stand out and share it… you'll feel the richness in you….
You will disregard all of those negative thoughts… dreams coupled with good and pure intentions will never lead you astray…
The words you might be hearing are just words of humans… of creatures your equal… but your purpose and dreams have been given to you by the One Most Powerful…. all you have to do is ACT ON IT… and find JOY in HAVING IT SHARED WITH EVERYBODY.
affected…
Last night just before the clock hits 12midnight, and while waiting for my brother to arrive, I was having this kind of seemingly "post-partumish" moods hahahaha I was getting up and down to write a love song but couldn't find the right lyrics that would speak for what i truly feel at that particular moment. Then came Matto's text… "Where're you at? Doin?" and I replied with… "Dorm. Nagdadrama. Ngayon ko lang naisip na mafeel na malungkot pala mag-isa ano?" She replied with… "Teka.. post-partumish ka dn? Hehehe… It's affecting you noh? M—— date being attached to someone na. Stage lang yan. Bukas timang mode ka na ulit. Si Babsi na ulit iniisip mo." Lol… True…. my friends are not used to sheggz making drama when it comes to "someone" and "in love". That's why they don't know when it's time that I am serious at taking this matter… But it's true… the moment I woke up this morning, the uneasy feeling was all gone. I even laughed at one incident that I saw my "special friend's wife" in Makati…. and another "special friend's gf" at the dorm. hahaha Just how I deal with losing… laugh it all out… till you laugh no more!
Our Treasure
1 John 2:15-17
God owns our treasure, regardless of what we consider "valuables." Material goods, talents, and time actually all belong to Him. Our responsibility is to manage and wisely invest whatever treasure He provides.
And we are to help meet our own needs by using whatever the Lord provides from His unlimited "storehouse. " For example, Philippians 4:19 tells us, "God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Some people interpret this as license to wait idly upon the Lord. But Scripture also speaks of laboring for six days and resting on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:9-10). Many of our basic needs are met through a job, so it's wise to invest our time and talents in gainful employment.
Furthermore, the Lord wants us to use our resources to aid others, whether their poverty is financial, spiritual, or emotional. The best way to be helpful is by promoting God's work in our community and around the world. Jesus commanded that His followers preach the gospel and disciple newer believers. A portion of our time, talent, and money should be devoted to reaching the lost, because there is simply no greater need. The Lord's work also includes seeing that bodies are clothed, stomachs are full, and hearts are mended– these, too, are worthy biblical causes.
God's resources do not belong to us. The treasures He places in our hands should be held lightly and invested wisely. To be good managers of what the Lord has given to us, we must be willing to give easily.

If you're my friend, you know exactly just how Pooh fanatic I am. Name it, i have it! And when my closest friends got married and gave birth, surely, no one will never be empty-handed with anything that's Pooh. If they have something "new" and "unusual" pooh, I always get a call from them telling me that their babies are "hooked by pooh" hahahahaha
I was never been too close with one of my kumpares, and I was shocked to receive a call from him saying..
"Ninang, alam mo ba, ang first word ni baby… hindi Mama at hindi Papa… Pooh-Pooh!!! hahahaha"
See… even their husbands were hooked hahahaha
Okay then, Huggies has a pooh diapers.. get it straight from New York! hahaha
Dumadami na ang Pooh-lutong!
Post-Partumish
Two nights ago, my kumareng Matto texted me something about "Post-Partum Depression" and she feels that she's into it. In short, she's having this kinda "post-partumish" tantrums hehehe. But true… I noticed something has changed even before Matto gave birth to Izzie… if there's post-partum depression, there's also this so-called "Pre-Partum" which triggers before giving birth.
I've read about this before, some new moms even kill their babies upon seeing them. So Jacqui, Maan and Evy, be a lil more patient in dealing with Matto… it's understandable and scientifically proven that she has to undergo with this stage…. hehehe
The birth of a baby can trigger a jumble of powerful emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. But it can also result in something you might not expect — depression.
Many new moms experience the baby blues — a mild, short-lived depression — for a few days or weeks after childbirth. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, about 10 percent of new moms experience postpartum depression — a more severe form of depression that can develop within the first six months after giving birth. For women with postpartum depression, feelings such as sadness, anxiety and restlessness can be so strong that they interfere with daily tasks. Rarely, a more extreme form of depression known as postpartum psychosis can develop.
Experiencing depression after childbirth isn't a character flaw or a weakness. Sometimes it's simply part of giving birth. If you're depressed, prompt treatment can help you manage your symptoms — and enjoy your baby.
