The Priceless Comfort
November 9, 2007Since the day my brother had decided to offer a hitch every morning and night whenever possible, it has helped me a lot in reducing a part of stress-causing area in my daily routine.
Aside from the fact that it has added quality time together to have a casual talk about anything. Just last night, he saw me running till I get into his car with my laptop still opened. When I sat down, my attention has never been undisturbed. I just continue typing. He started sharing about his work and his officemates. Sometimes I overheard what he was telling, leaving a “No Reaction” on me. Or at one point, I took the effort to reply with a word or two.
While on traffic, he said, “Ate, kwento ka naman. Kwentuhan naman tayo. Lagi ka na lang busy.”
It was his statement that hit me. I turned it off and faced him. I started sharing and we started laughing. We care less whether we’re getting lost off the road.
There’s a lot to catch up. These are the priceless conversations that our lives before had taken away from us for quite sometime. He’s overly busy at getting a degree in Law while I’m equally busy at work. My brother is my closest friend and I am his closest confidante. Our recent brainstorming is on how to save more whenever we decide to move here in It’s the comfort brought by closely-knit family ties that makes my life worthy to be shared. And it’s what my brother and I would like to do with the growing families-to-be.
