World Alienation
January 18, 2008Have you noticed there are a lot of world signs of "alienation"?
Visit the bookstore, you'll find a wide range of books on "Finding purpose", "In Pursuit of Happiness", "Achieving Inner Victory", etc. In Music stores, a wide range of "Meditative Songs" from local and foreign artists. In personal development seminars, they are now branching into a more soulful talks.
In theatrical plays, topics range from Knowing Thy Self, Appreciating Life, People and Events, Near-death experiences, etc.
Life is fast-changing and fast-paced that it tend to ignore what our life really needs… appreciation of simple things and simple blessings and simple being.
Everytime I see signs of world alienation, I can't help but be sad. That I belong to this generation that "simple appreciation and inner purpose identification" are being relied on books, wisdom of others, alternative meditative music and yoga.
I may be physically fit but I know this world makes my inner soul deteriorates.
Just when I have time to do whatever it is that fulfills the needs and longings of my soul, I grab it. You may find it "weird" but for me, it's everything.
I see every single detail with purpose. This generation is a continued battle. You win not by getting material gains but more importantly, by surviving in this era that you remain complete, morals are still intact and faith in God has never been shaken.
In the end, the true measure of how worth it you have lived your life, is that unshakeable faith and immeasurable love.
