Hayeaah!

I’ve been convincing some of my friends to go into sports.  I am a frustrated athlete actually.  And I find it so “astig” when someone is into sports and excelling on that field.  The likes of Lydia De Vega, Gretchen Malalad, Gaby dela Merced, Janice Wu, Akiko Thompson and Paeng Nepomuceno are just some of my favorite Filipino athletes.

I am choosing whether I'll go to karate, kickboxing, krav maga or muay thai.  Meds made me think of considering flag football, too.  There's just one thing that excites me… paintball!  I normally do not enjoy less risky gurly sports.  I love bruises and black eyes and all that stuff hehehe

It's but a need to really release the tension and stress out of your body… and one solution that I can think of is to venture into sports.  Wanna join?

Sa hindi malamang kadahilanan, kailanman ay hindi ako naging concerned o conscious man lang sa aking punto.  Mapa-Ingles man o Tagalog, kung ito man ay halata, hindi ko iniintindi.  Ang mas mahalaga sa akin ay kung may katuturan ba ang sinasabi ko o wala.

I started to love hearing Japanese and Chinese songs when I heard 1998 Asian Song Festival where a Japanese (or Chinese) won.  As far as I can remember, Lani Misalucha was our bet and won the Best Performer award with her "Anak" rendition sung in different language. 

Then came, the Lovers in Paris OST and the Spring Waltz… I fell in love with the songs… 

I always loved hearing the voice of Moonstar88 vocalist, Accel Bisa at the time she was starting with "Torete"… now, I am glad that I hear her again singing the English version of One Love used as OST of Spring Waltz.

This song made me feel so positive at looking about love… it lightens the feeling and it makes me smile leaving a happy face before I sleep…

The Big Night

Still have the Big Night hangover and still recovering from the shock hehehe.  I may sound bitter in some statements but I was really shocked that Gaby didn't win.  I was in Araneta with some of the new friends I have met all rooting for Gaby dela Merced.  Gabsters and Gabysters!  All the while I thought, the orange hotdog balloons and the Gaby posters would not be enough to be noticed since Araneta was so huge and other groups brought along big tarps of their favorite housemates… but I was shocked that majority of the people were shouting … the posters were brought up to the patron seats hehehehe… and reading the posts in PEX and ABS forums, they were hearing a loud chant of GABY GABY GABY!!!!

And I can assure.. yes!!  Huge following of Gaby ruled Araneta!  Even if she didn't win, that alone is a guarantee that Gaby captured the hearts of so many people from all walks of life… It's a glaring surprise that she had just landed in a 3rd slot…

They might have declared "their' Big Winner.. but still, in my heart.. my Big Winner is Gaby!  Starstruck again si Sheggz hehehehehe

Why GABY?

This is just my personal views on how to spot a Real Big Winner.

- one with a stand-out personality 

- transformation is evident and realizations are sincere and warmly felt.

- one who inspires and motivates

- a character that shines brightest

- one who's real, transparent and genuine

- one who races for his/her dreams and fulfill the passion despite the odds

- one who treats other housemates on equal footing

- one who bravely argue, not for the sake of making "just" an argument but on affirming his/her own right as a housemate and the intentions of fulfilling and not fulfilling a task… to make Big Brother feel, he/she is not just a follower… but a "thinking" individual.

- one who makes you feel so proud of being Pinoy

This PBB season, two have been added into my list…. one who has selfless love

- one who despite the celebrity stature, still has a humble attitude to accept faults and learn from it and enjoys the victory of others….

And lastly, every year, I look at something extraordinary about these housemates….

May the universe conspires with all who have been truly inpired and moved by Gaby dela Merced's selfless love to achieve what we really want…. to have Gaby be a Big Winner!

Race for your dream, GABY

Way passed midnight, I received a text from someone asking me to attend a debate for PBB in defense of Gaby. 

"You might be free tomorrow.  Need someone from the fans of Gaby to defend why she should be the Big Winner.  You sound so articulate at the forums, you might want to share it in Uber.  Basta speak Filipino."

It went in passing, though.  Then this morning, I still got an invite for the same purpose… hehehe

I was just thinking… "ganon na ba talaga ako ka-jologs? hehehe"  Shall I treat it as a compliment?   Or I have that sharp eye for real good winners?

Well oh well.. here's my share of thoughts!

Si Gaby ang tanging celebrity housemate na kakikitaan ng pag-uugaling higit na magpapatingkad at mag-aangat sa mas mataas na antas ng pagkilala ng mga Pinoy sa isang Pinoy na Celebrity.  Sikat man sa larangang una ciang nakilala, ngunit may pag-uugaling tumatatak at iyon ay ang pagiging maprinsipyo at mapagmalasakit na  Pinoy.

-          nakakabilib na pakikipagkapwa-tao

-          hindi mapanglamang

-          may mababang loob

Doon ako sa taong ang tanging pinanghahawakan ay magandang prinsipyo, kabutihang loob, pagpapakatotoo at kilalang may matinding pagpapahalaga sa pangarap at pagdidisposisyon.  Hindi takot malagay sa alaganin, maipaglaban lang ang sa tingin niya ay tama…

Singapore Calling

Holiday season has finally ended.  Friends who came over had their goodbyes…. It will take some time again for us to be together again. 

I was about to close our gate when I saw Lola coming out. 

“Ina, bakit?  Gabi na… san kayo pupunta?”

“Paalis na si Berna…”

I glanced outside and saw a van.  Some of our neighbors were standing beside it.  Waiting for Ate Berna to come out… some of them were crying.  She's off to Dubai and will be leaving behind her two children…

I whispered something and my brother heard it…

She: “Kakainggit naman… Kelan kaya ako magbababye… Gusto ko rin may maghahatid sa aking van.” 

Bro: “Diyan ka na lang sa trabaho mo… “

She: “Gusto ko talaga noon pa.  Ung calling para magtrabaho dun, nararamdaman ko na talaga..”

Bro: “Eh di apply ka ulit…”

And a long silence came in between… my brother took a nap.  And when he woke up…

Bro:  “ Singapore na lang Ate para pag nahomesick ka, pwede ka umuwi agad.”

I smiled and felt relieved that somehow my brother knew that I am serious about it.

She:  “Yup!  Weekly uuwi ako hehehehe”

Buh-bye Baby Pooh

The turn of the year will totally be different from the many years I had.  That’s what I promised to myself.  Apart from the usual things I do, prioritize and value, there’s more that I need to love and respect… that’s myself.  This is the most opportune time to step out, fly free and make something good out of that freedom. I do not neglect the very rare friends I had and the family I’ve come to love… those God chooses to be with me in my journey are the ones I intend to keep… You get tired of loving unworthy people. If getting around with them will just make you feel different, then get your luggage, go out and go back to your world that made you human.  You need not to do noble things that others would recognize, but do good, feel good, and be good in the eyes of the One who sees beyond what others see. I never stopped loving.  I rely on God’s most reliable and unconditional love to fill in what I failed to embrace and changed for the better. God’s love saves. The winning spirit in me chose to walk away to something more productive and triumphant.

God will always be good even to those who weren’t good.

I already said goodbye to baby pooh, the night I hugged, wished and prayed he would be different from them.  May my love and prayers be an angel in disguise, wherever he may be…
